Twelve dedicated local volunteers have an important job to do - review, discuss and visit applying and funded programs benefitting thousands of residents throughout Audrain County. These trained and dedicated community volunteers from all walks of life ensure your gift is invested in the best way to help people. Throught their hard work, United Way supports human service programs at the following agencies:

A + for Mexico Education
In 2012-13 awarded $25,557 in grants to educators in grades K-12.

Agape House of Vandalia
Provides overnight lodging for families of incarcerated women in the Vandalia prison. Positive results are found for children, and adults up release.

Rug Rats 4-H Group
Provides weekly activities for children in the Mexico Hosing Authority area, helping them to grow into competent, confident, caring, and contributing community members.

The Help Center
Provided food to over 10,600 Audrain Co residents in 2012. They also maintain a thrift store, providing low cost clothing and household items.

American Red Cross
Provides emergency services, health and safety programs, armed forces assistance and blood drives.

Audrain County Crisis Intervention
Provides services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and child abuse.

ACHD - Medical Assistance Program
Provides financial assistance to most common medical-related fields - primarily prescriptions.

Big Brothers Big Sisters
Matches at-risk children with an adult role-model.

Rainbow House - Child Advocacy Center
Provides forensic interviews for children who are vicitims of abuse, family advocacy for victims and their family, and individual and group therapy for victims and their families.

CMCA Family Development Program
Helps families with self-sufficiency by gaming employment and/or more education, teaches healthy parenting skills, and prevents child abuse in families that are at-risk.

Children's Therapy and Early Education School
Provides therapy, preschool and other support services to children with development disabilities.

Northeast Community Service Agency
Provides courts with sentencing alternatives in the form of community service.

Senior Nutrition Center
Provides noon meals at the center giving nutritious meals as well as socialization opportunities. Provides home-bound meals seven days a week. Also provides health screening, nutrition education, computer training, Recreational activities and other programs throughout the year.

St. Joseph Early Learning Center
Providing quality childcare and pre-school for residents in the Martinsburg/Laddonia area.

Mexico Area YMCA
Provides membership and program fees for low-income families.

Our Mission

The mission of the United Way of Audrain County is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities. Through partnerships, long-term planning, and wise investments of donor contributions, United Way of Audrain County will supporting 15 community programs and services in Audrain County. United Way is a volunteer-driven organization that involves many community leaders, professionals, and other volunteers in every aspect of our business, including fundraising, marketing, and funding decisions, to ensure that your donations are truly making a difference.
